Day trip to San Francisco

Last weekend we drove down to San Francisco to visit the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. We thought it was our lucky day because admissions were half off (yippee) but then we found out that two of the five floors were shut down (grrr). Despite this we had a great time strolling through the different exhibits.

They have numerous artists for their exhibits but only one or two pieces of each of their works. Mark Rothko, Osef Albers, Vija Celmins, Bruce Conner, Marcel Duchamp, Frida Kahlo, Yves Klein, Joan Mitchell, Piet Mondrian, Georgia O’Keeffe, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Robert Rauschenberg, Diego Rivera, and Charles Sheeler were just a few of the artists.

Adventures in San Francisco

We spent the afternoon walking up and down the street of San Francisco popping into shops and little art galleries. We hunted down a little bistro tucked into an almost empty alley. We dined on gourmet soup while on the opposite side of the alley an opera singer serenaded the people walking by.

Beautiful end to San Francisco Days

We ended the day walking down the beach and people watching. There were plenty of surfers, families, and dogs enjoying the unusually warm weather. We stayed and watched the sunset over San Francisco. It was the perfect end to a great day.
