Spring CSA Box from Full Belly Farm

I wasn’t going to join a CSA this year. I thought I could get by on harvesting from my own garden and shopping from the local farmers market. But that was before I saw that Full Belly Farm was providing asparagus in their current boxes. Asparagus, is the one vegetable I can’t grow on my own but would love to get on a biweekly basis. I also received gorgeous Romanesco broccoli. I was searching for this gorgeous vegetable at our farmers market but I was always coming home empty handed. If you haven’t tried Romanesco it’s like a cross between cauliflower and broccoli. It’s slightly more delicate and it’s absolutely beautiful. The rest of the box contained broccoli, potatoes, carrots, beets, spring onions, swiss chard, and parsley.

Oh, what a lovely box of colorful stuff!!! I need to see about doing this here too…would be loads of fun! When I saw that swiss chard, I had just read this recipe for soup…check it out over at BG Garden. I think I will make it tomorrow, but substitute collards, since we have so many to eat here!!!
