Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We started our prep work last night with him brining the turkey and me baking pies. I also shucked fresh peas for the first time. As a l life long hater of peas (I’ve only had the frozen variety), I have to admit they were pretty tasty. Now, I have to get back to work we have a long menu to tackle. Your peas looked lovely! I used to shuck all kinds of peas as a child on my grandmas farm! Those were the days! Here is a recipe that is easy for your peas! Put them on to cook in water, and when the water gets cooked almost out add a stick of butter (or whatever you might use for margarine, etc., and add quite a few cashews (salted ones). Cook till water gone and you will have a wonderful tasting peas dish! My aunt made it one year at Thanksgiving and I have never forgotten it. I need to make it again very soon! It is not a dish for weight loss!!! 🙂
